Project Overview
KPS was appointed by Mitie to deliver a full roof refurbishment and associated remedial works at Halifax Bank on Kilburn High Road in London.
The project focused on restoring the building’s weatherproofing and overall condition following previous water ingress, with works including asbestos roof tile removal, installation of a new tiled roofing system and internal remedial repairs.

The existing roof had suffered from water ingress, which had affected internal ceiling finishes and raised concerns around the building’s long-term weather protection.
The project also required the safe removal of asbestos roof tiles and the installation of temporary weather protection, ensuring works could progress safely and efficiently while protecting the building throughout the programme.

KPS delivered a full external roof refurbishment package alongside associated inspection and internal remedial works.

Temporary Weather Protection
A temporary tin hat roof covering was installed as part of the scaffold design, allowing the refurbishment works to continue safely and efficiently during adverse weather conditions.
This helped protect the building while the existing roof was stripped and the new tiled roofing system was installed.

The Result
The completed works restored the building’s weather protection and resolved previous water ingress issues.
The new roof tiles, Velux roof windows and associated finishes significantly improved the appearance and long-term integrity of the building, while internal ceiling repairs helped restore affected areas following the roof refurbishment.
