KPS was appointed by Kent County Council to deliver internal refurbishment and alteration works at Sittingbourne Library in Kent. The project focused on improving the functionality, accessibility and flexibility of the building for both library users and wider community services.

The works included the creation of new internal spaces, consultation rooms and upgraded facilities, helping the building support a broader range of public services within one community setting.

The project required the existing library environment to be adapted to support multiple uses, including registration services, NHS consultation space and midwifery appointments.
This meant the works needed to be planned carefully to ensure the finished layout provided suitable, practical and compliant spaces for a range of different service users.

KPS delivered a package of internal alterations, refurbishment works and fire safety upgrades throughout the building.

Formation of a new Births and Deaths registration room
Creation of NHS consultation rooms
Formation of a dedicated midwifery consultation room
Refurbishment of the existing wedding reception room
Installation of new carpet tiles
Installation of non-slip vinyl flooring to designated areas
Installation of new fire doors
Associated fire stopping works throughout the building
